Image faces South; Sacramento is to the right, and the Sierra Nevada mountain range is to the left. This image is generated by a wireless IP camera that is connected to our WLAN. It operates 24 hours per day, and lights the observatory in infrared at night. While the camera provides video (and I can access it using iCAM on the iPhone, seeing in real-time both internal and external views of the observatory and equipment), the image above is a still image, which can be updated by clicking on the "Web Cam" menu item at left. Most clear nights, you will see the dome in various positions, as the telescope slews to the nightly targets.
