The Ethos range of astronomical oculars (eyepieces) is Televue's latest attempt to surpass their own record in terms of field of view (FOV). These eyepieces are claimed to have a fully-corrected field-of-view of 100 degrees (!). Televue's prior Nagler line of eyepieces has an incredible 82 degree FOV, but are easily surpassed by the Ethos line. I had only a single Ethos eyepiece - the 8mm - which I eventually sold to fund my astro-imaging equipment. |
Most recently, Televue has announced the Ethos-SX line of eyepieces (e.g., 3.7 mm), which is claimed to have a 110 degree field-of-view. TheFOV on these eyepieces is so large, that many people need to roll their eyes around to take in the entire view! |
